Like it or not, you are being judged by how you look, how you dress, and how you carry yourself—and, if you’re lucky, how you do your job.
Jack and Dave had lunch.
They knew each other for 30 years.
They don’t see each other very often and hadn’t sat down across the table from each other for several years.
Jack was comfortable and dressed as he usually do, with his jeans , sneakers and button – up shirt.
Dave is a corporate attorney.
He entered the restaurant immaculately dressed.
Dave hasn’t changed much since they knew each other in their early twenties, while Jack - decidedly more sporting, grey hair and a nearly white beard.
Dave could pass for 10 years younger than Jack, although he’s actually a couple of ears Jack’s senior
As they left the restaurant together Jack made an off-handed comment about how he appreciated that Dave got “all dressed up” to have lunch with him.
Dave didn’t miss a beat, he replied with : “I guess I just take our friendship more seriously than you do.”
